For $34, He Wore Our Shirt!

With the economy as bad as it is, this $34 was the best purchase I have made in a long while. If you haven’t heard or seen the buzz about Jason Stadler’s, iwearyourshirt.com, you are out of the loop. As I was able to comment in a Jan 3. Beaches Leader article, “we love this kind of stuff” and jumped on the bandwagon early to support a colleague and avoid an escalating price tag. I didn’t realize then what a value it would turn out to be.

For our money, we expected features on Jason’s daily Ustream.tv and video clips on sites such as YouTube, Facebook and Twitter; but, we never anticipated the overwhelming interest generated around our day. In fact, our own site’s traffic increased by 69% that week due primarily to viral linking and promotion from Jason’s site. To top it off, Jason’s own PR efforts resulted in a bonus hit for us as he wore our Brown Dog shirt during his Mixergy Interview with Andrew Warner (Thanks, guys!)

So if you were hard at work or simply forgot to tune in and missed the awesome black and white dog’s eye view video (see below) or the live Ustream on Feb 3, don’t fret. You can view it all here, on the iwys blog site: iwearyourshirt.com/blog recap.

Easy-to-use Online Photo Editors

Clients often asked us how to crop, or even reduce the file size, of a photo for their website or blog. For web developers and other graphic designers that use CS3 or 4, it is tempting for us to offer a knee jerk recommendation of Adobe’s Photoshop® as it offers all they need and more. But this presents some problems as our typical clients wouldn’t use it enough to warrant it’s hefty price tag or steep learning curve. So… we struggled to find something reasonably priced, basic enough for their needs and easy to learn.

So last month, while developing wegive.org with The Nonprofit Center, we searched to find just such a solution that their members could use in order to edit their project photos and post unassisted. Alas, we (or rather our amazing client, Tuesday Cetin) found just such a tool. And the best part is that it is not only reasonably priced, but free! Introducing: Pixenate™.

Further research from our team, disclosed a comprehensive resource list of other similar tools on Mashable: see Online Photo Editors. If these sounds like something you need, give them each a try and let us know which you prefer.
